How to Connect a Volunteer Task Group to Sessions, Programs and Participants

A task group rarely stands alone. The shifts at a conference belong to its sessions, a program may send its participants to help, and a group may serve one of your programs. The Connections page ties the group to those records, so you can open any of them straight from the group.

Open Connections

Open the task group and click Connections in the workspace menu. The page has three panels: Associated Event Sessions, Associated Programs and Associated Participants. The number beside each panel's title counts its connections.

The conference volunteer group, connected to three conference sessions, a program and two of its participants.

Connect a record

  1. In the panel you need, start typing in the Search box: a session's name, a program's name or a participant's name.
  2. Pick the record from the list.
  3. Click Connect.

The record joins the list in that panel, showing its ID and its name.

Open or remove a connection

  • To open the connected record, click its green icon.
  • To remove the connection, click its pink icon. This removes only the link between the two records. The session, program or participant stays in Argenta.

Each task in the group has its own Connections page too, for a link that belongs to one shift, such as the registration desk to the registration session. See How to Connect a Volunteer Task to Sessions and Programs.

For the rest of the group's pages, see Working With Volunteer Task Groups.
